New settlers also emigrated from Varetta because they were not consistent with the Council of the Founding Fathers. In the north, some migrants from Orsa and Varetta discovered a nice river in a deep vale, a tributary to the Storn they called the Zautarl. Going down the river, they created the town of Zauttra - the future Karkaste - in MS1415, and rapidly clashed with the small Vaderish-Aluvian principality of Kromdivar which was settled downstream the Zautarl. In MS1503, other migrants from Varetta and Orsa went upstream the Zautarl, crossed the Quarlen Range and discovered the lush Golden Vale - the valley where would appear later the Maakengorge - where they established the prosperous town of Emolyria.
